Duty of Care

We are very excited to begin holding events again in person, but we recognize that COVID-19 remains a concern and will be taking extra steps to protect everyone attending our events in person.

The well-being of our attendees is of the utmost importance, and we are committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for the participants of our events. That is why we have adopted preventative measures to reduce as much as possible the potential spread of the COVID-19 virus. We also encourage all attendees to follow recommendations provided by the public authorities.

Current public health recommendations

Mask

To protect yourself and others, public health authorities recommend that you should wear a mask in indoor public places, public transportation and crowded outdoor spaces.

Hand Sanitizer

Wash your hands frequently and use hand sanitizer provided on location.

Social distancing guidelines

To protect yourself and others, public health authorities recommend that you should:

  • stay 2 meters (6 feet) away from other people as much as possible, unless you’re with your household members (the people you live with) or your close social contacts
  • keep your close social contacts to a small consistent group, as much as possible
  • make informed choices about who and how to interact with each other (consider age, occupation and health conditions)

Personal Accountability Commitment

CICan event attendees, event organizers and partners agree to respect the health and safety protocols in place. This includes, but is not limited to: showing proof of vaccination upon arrival, answering a COVID screening questionnaire, wearing a mask at all times when not actively eating or drinking, respecting appropriate physical distancing, and not attending the event if you are experiencing symptoms or have been recently exposed to or diagnosed with COVID-19 (and have not yet been cleared by provincial/territorial health authorities as non-contagious, in accordance to the appropriate public health guidelines in place).

If you have any questions on the event, please reach out to the CICan Events Team
