Scotiabank Student GIC Excellence Scholarship Program

We are thrilled to introduce an exciting opportunity for international students studying at select member institutions of Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan). This scholarship, made possible by Scotiabank, aims to recognize and reward international students pursuing their education in Canada.

If you are an international student studying or planning to study at a CICAN member institution in the Fall or Winter 2023-24 terms, this scholarship offers you the opportunity to receive a one-time scholarship of up to $1000 to further enhance your educational journey.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply to the Scotiabank Student GIC Excellence Scholarship Program, at the time of application applicants must be:

17 years of age or older;
an international student with a Scotiabank Student GIC account*; and
enrolled as a first term student for either the September 2023 or January 2024 term at an eligible CICan member institution* as a full-time student and provide proof of enrolment; and
satisfies their institution’s minimum GPA requirement for the scholarship

* Select member institutions only.

Eligible Institutions

25 institutions will be eligible for the scholarship. Those confirmed include:

Saskatchewan Polytechnic
Northern Alberta Institute of Technology
St. Lawrence College
NorQuest College
Seneca College

What’s a GIC (Guaranteed Investment Certificate)?
