Explore Trades and Technologies

Explore Trades and Technologies empowers the next generation of Canadian leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs by giving youth opportunities to discover fulfilling careers in the skilled trades and related fields.

In partnership with Junior Achievement (JA Canada), the project brings together colleges and institutes to host a series of World of Choices Summits on campuses across the country. In a hands-on environment, students discover how to navigate training opportunities, learn about the skills they’ll need to succeed, and leave empowered with a deeper understanding of how colleges and institutes can set them on a path to success.

The project also connects a network of trades experts to inspire more young people to pursue careers in skilled trades and related fields. Diverse and enthusiastic professionals will share expertise through speaking and mentorship opportunities, encouraging students to work and train in the sector.

World of Choices Summits are interactive opportunities organized by JA Canada for high-school students to learn about fulfilling careers in sectors like trades, healthcare technology, and aerospace. Summits organized within this program will build on the same format to give students a chance to learn about skilled trades and related fields in particular. In most provinces skilled trades focuses on training in automotive, mechanical, construction, and manufacturing fields. In Quebec, trades can refer to professional and technical training in related fields.
