Introduction to Environmental Literacy and Citizenship

The 10-hour online course, Introduction to Environmental Literacy and Citizenship helps students become part of the solution to one of the greatest challenges of our time: climate change. Environmental literacy explains the interconnectedness of our world providing knowledge about the realities of climate change and helps create awareness of the invisible carbon footprints we create and that surround us.

This introductory online course in sustainability also explains concepts like: circular economy, renewable energy, resilience and adaptation in the face of climate change and how students can make a difference and answer the call to environmental citizenship.

Introduction to Environmental Literacy and Citizenship was developed by Canadore College as part of the Green Pathways for Small Communities program. Funded by the Government of Canada, the course is made available as an Open Education Resource freely usable under Creative Commons CC BY-NC 4.0 DEED.
