CICan Global Engagement Mission: Nigeria

January 15 - 17, 2026
  • Lagos, Nigeria

As part of Colleges and Institutes Canada’s (CICan) strategic global engagement, member institutions are invited to participate in missions targeting partnership and business development opportunities in Western Africa.

What to Expect?

This EduCanada-branded event in Lagos, delivered in collaboration with the Trade Commissioner Service and Global Affairs Canada, will include a student recruitment fair and business-to-business (B2B) meetings with local institutions and education agents.

Participants will also have the opportunity to engage in an optional CICan-hosted Industry and Workforce Development Forum, featuring key TVET actors from Nigerian government ministries and agencies, as well as industry and institutional representatives focused on education reform and workforce development.

Key Sectors of Interest: Energy, Agribusiness, Fintech & Digital Finance, Infrastructure & Mining

Why Participate?

Nigeria remains one of Canada’s top source countries for international students, with over 21,000 Nigerian students holding Canadian study permits in 2022. With a rapidly growing youth population and a strong demand for global credentials, Nigeria offers significant opportunities for both student recruitment and institutional collaboration.

Who Should Participate?

This mission is ideal for institutions seeking to build trusted partnerships, educate the market on Canadian education pathways, and explore joint programming opportunities in a high-growth, English-speaking market.
