Call for Consultation: Strengthen Student Mentoring Across Canada

Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan) invites member institutions to take part in the development of new mentoring resources that will be co-created with Mentor Canada.

As part of the Navigating Success project, delivered in partnership with the Rideau Hall Foundation’s Catapult Canada program, this initiative will produce inclusive tools that reflect the needs of newcomers, Indigenous youth, and students from northern and rural communities—strengthening student support across Canada’s post-secondary system.

Participating institutions will contribute approximately 8 hours between November 2025 and April 2026 to help shape:

  • A 1-hour online training module for educators and advisors
  • A complementary mentoring guide for educators and advisors
  • Three student-focused tools to enhance mentoring engagement

Institutions will receive an honorarium of up to $1,200 to support staff time, student consultations, and minor administrative costs. All resources will be made publicly available through CICan’s Mapping Skills for Success navigator tool.
