Skills for a Green and Inclusive Tunisia

This program is helping Tunisia’s seven Instituts Supérieurs des Sciences Appliquées et de Technologie (ISSATs)—institutes of applied science and technology affiliated with universities—equip students with the skills they need for in-demand careers in the green economy.

Drawing on the expertise of CICan member institutions, the program supports curriculum development, applied research, gender equality, and the integration of sustainability across campus life. With high unemployment rates in the country—especially among women—these efforts aim to better align training with evolving labour market needs, while supporting Tunisia’s broader ecological transition toward a more inclusive and sustainable economy.

This initiative is an Education for Employment (EFE) program. EFE is CICan’s proven strategy that leads to job-ready graduates around the world. Our EFE programs bring together Canada’s network of colleges and institutes and education, industry, and government partners in more than 15 countries and are important drivers of economic growth and social development, particularly for young people.
