CICan Congratulates Canada’s 24th Prime Minister

Ottawa, April 29, 2025 – Colleges and Institutes Canada congratulates the re-elected government and all Members of Parliament — new and returning — across the country. We also extend our congratulations to Mark Carney on being elected as Prime Minister of Canada.

Investing in public post-secondary institutions isn’t just good policy; it’s essential for Canada’s future. Whether it’s building and making things here at home, growing a more competitive, productive workforce and economy, or strengthening global trade — it all starts with Canada’s colleges, institutes, CEGEPs, and polytechnics.

We look forward to working in partnership with the new government – on behalf of and with our members – as solutions builders for Canada’s biggest economic, healthcare, and social challenges.

“Congratulations to Prime Minister Mark Carney and all elected parliamentarians. As the trainers of the builders, makers, growers, first responders and caregivers Canadians depend on, we look forward to working together in the years to come to meet the moment and build a strong and resilient Canada.”
