A focused, high-impact advocacy experience designed to connect our sector directly with federal decision-makers and strengthen the voice of public colleges, institutes, CEGEPs, polytechnics, and Indigenous Institutes of Education in shaping Canada’s future.

CICan on the Hill is the capstone of CICan’s summer and fall advocacy efforts, bringing a president-led delegation to Ottawa for strategic meetings with parliamentarians, ministers’ offices, senior public servants, and other key federal stakeholders.
Building on local and regional member-led outreach CICan on the Hill is a unique opportunity to amplify our collective message at the national level and reinforce the essential role our institutions play in delivering on Canada’s priorities.

CICan on the Hill participants will help advance CICan’s advocacy, demonstrating how colleges and institutes are essential partners in turning national ambitions into real results for communities, employers, and learners across the country.
Participants Will:
- Engage directly with federal decision-makers on issues that matter to the sector;
- Reinforce the role of colleges and institutes as critical partners in workforce development, applied research, and community prosperity;
- Contribute to a coordinated national advocacy effort leading into the federal budget cycle;
- Exchange insights and perspectives with fellow institutional leaders from across Canada; and
- Strengthen relationships that support future collaboration and sector-wide impact.
Who Should Attend?
Participation is open to Presidents and Directors General of CICan member institutions.
Registration
To ensure a high-quality experience and meaningful engagement opportunities, participation is limited and will be confirmed through an intake process on a first-come, first-served basis.
Attendees will be responsible for their own travel and accommodation expenses, and a participation fee of $500 will apply.
Together, we can ensure Canada’s colleges and institutes remain at the centre of the conversations shaping the country’s workforce, economy, and future prosperity.
