L’Université de Saint-Boniface (USB) est le plus ancien établissement d’enseignement postsecondaire de l’Ouest canadien et est l’université de langue française au Manitoba. The University College of the North (UCN) offers college and university programming across 14 locations throughout Manitoba. UCN is uniquely mandated to serve a culturally diverse population. The institution is governed by a bi-cameral system, which includes a Governing Council and a Learning Council, along with a Council of Elders that serves in an advisory role. UCN offers more than 40 programs and confers degrees, diplomas and certificates. Some of UCN’s programming is a result of partnering with other institutions like the Joint Baccalaureate Nursing program. UCN offers educational opportunities in a “close to home” approach through the Education and Training Centres. UCN has learning centres in First Nations communities throughout the north.

Located in the heart of the city, Vancouver Community College welcomes over 15,000 students annually to experience real-world, relevant training and fully prepare for a competitive workforce. VCC has served its surrounding community for over 50 years through numerous on-campus, student-run services that are open to the public. These include cafeterias, gourmet restaurants, an auto shop, a dental office, a design studio, and a salon and spa. Such service outlets allow students to practice professional skills while providing high-quality lower-cost services in Downtown and East Vancouver.

The Native Education College (NEC) opened its doors in 1967 and quickly became British Columbia’s largest private Aboriginal College. The college’s focus is to meet the needs of Aboriginal adult students requiring developmental, vocational, and applied academic programs to access employment or further post-secondary education. The institute offers a variety of programs with multiple levels of certification: certificates, diplomas and degrees. The Native Education College is a non-profit society that is governed by a Board of Directors whose members are elected from the society. The society is currently made up of over 30 community leaders from many different Nations, representing the diversity of Aboriginal people in Canada.

New Brunswick College of Craft and Design

New Brunswick College of Craft and Design (NBCCD) is the only college in Canada that focuses entirely on fine crafts and design. Since 1938, the institution emphasizes on providing excellent quality education in applied and entrepreneurial fine craft and design, and helping its students establish a career in that field. The College’s campus is located in heritage buildings in downtown Fredericton, one of Canada’s cultural capitals and a hotbed of creativity. The institution provides small classes, professional studios and labs, an extensive library, and some of the best faculty in the world of crafts and design. Degrees, diplomas and certificates are offered.

A satisfaction and retention survey of graduates from 2010 to 2013 showed 94% satisfaction and 93% willingness to recommend NBCCD to a friend. There are many opportunities for students to exhibit their work and to enter it in competitions. Students and faculty regularly receive provincial, national, and international recognition for excellence across all disciplines. Instructors share their time and expertise with arts and crafts organizations, connecting students with a broader community of fine crafts people and designers.

With over 90 regular programs and six campuses across New Brunswick, New Brunswick Community College (NBCC) is a collaborative, learner-centred college – creatively contributing to social and economic prosperity through applied learning. NBCC offers students one- and two-year certificate and diploma programs. The College operates from six campuses located in Fredericton, Miramichi, Moncton, Saint John, St. Andrews and Woodstock. Nicola Valley Institute of Technology

The Nicola Valley Institute of Technology (NVIT) is B.C.’s Aboriginal public post-secondary institute. Founded by the five First Nations bands of the Nicola Valley, NVIT provides educational and skills enhancement opportunities that are essential for Aboriginal students to champion community advancements for today’s and future generations. NVIT is grounded in Aboriginal culture, tradition, and Indigenous Knowledge. As a provincial Aboriginal institute, NVIT has a mandate to deliver quality education throughout the province of B.C.. NVIT operates from two campuses located in Merritt and Vancouver. The institute delivers online courses to learners in all areas of the province. NVIT also offers community learning, continuing studies and a transferring option. That option allows students to start at NVIT for the first two years, which provides smaller class room sizes, more intimate relationship with instructors and less expensive tuition before setting off to a larger institute.

As Alberta’s largest community college, NorQuest provides a work-relevant education that includes hands-on learning opportunities, workplace practicums, and supportive instructors. From class to career, NorQuest College supports our learners’ success through student services, including free tutoring, health and wellness services, career counselling, cultural support for Indigenous students, and much more.
