Mark Frison

Mark Frison was named the President of Assiniboine Community College in June 2010 and formally started in the role in August 2010.

Prior to joining ACC, Frison was the President of Great Plains College in Saskatchewan. Great Plains College was created through the voluntary merger of Prairie West College and Cypress Hills College (of which Frison was also the President). Prior to joining Cypress Hills College in 2005, Mark served as Executive Director of the Association of Saskatchewan Regional Colleges.

Earlier in his career, Mark spent a number of years working in economic development in Nova Scotia with two federal Crown Corporations where he held a variety of positions focused on strategic planning, policy development, communication, development and human resources.

Frison has served of a number of boards and commissions including: Enterprise Saskatchewan, Saskatchewan Cancer Agency, Independent Program Committee (Sasktel), Maritime Provinces Higher Education Commission, Nova Scotia Council on Higher Education, and the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation. Mark remains a member of the National Advisory Board to the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation.

Mark holds undergraduate degrees in Business Administration and Science from Cape Breton University and a Master of Industrial Relations from Queens University in Kingston, Ontario.

Mark’s wife, Edith, is a Chartered Accountant with MNP. They live with their two children Cole and Piper in Brandon, Manitoba.
