Dr. M. Bryn Kulmatycki

Northern Lights College
Dr. M. Bryn Kulmatycki has been President and CEO of Northern Lights College since 2015 where he oversaw the expansion of a new trades training facility and created the Centre of Innovation for Indigenous Education. He has extensive experience in public and private education, both in the K-12 system and at the post-secondary level. In the K-12 dimension he has served twice as a School Principal and also was a Regional School Superintendent in Grande Prairie, Alberta. He has also held positions as President of a private university in Alberta and as a college Academic Vice-President in British Columbia.
Over his career he has been appointed or was elected to various executive leadership positions; has served on many boards, agencies, and professional organizations; and is a life member of several education associations. He has lectured and presented on various leadership topics throughout his career, and has also facilitated workshops in Canada, United States, New Zealand, and at the Oxford Round Table at Oxford University. He has served many provincial committees and task forces including being appointed by the BC Premier as an adjudicator for the BC Premier’s Service Awards. He has received formal apostolic recognition from Pope Benedict XVI for his many lifetime achievements.
He earned a PhD from the University of Calgary, a Master’s degree from the University of Alberta and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Calgary. He has also recently completed a leadership certificate from Institute for Educational Management at Harvard University.
