CIIP signs new four-year agreement with IRCC for continued pre-arrival services

Ottawa, January 22, 2019 – Colleges and Institutes Canada’s (CICan) Canadian Immigrant Integration Program (CIIP) was selected to be among 16 service providers to offer future Canadians services as part of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada’s (IRCC) renewed pre-arrival program. CIIP (also known as Planning for Canada) provides Economic-Class and Family-Class immigrants with in-person and online pre-arrival group information sessions, as well as individualized planning sessions to support their social and economic success in Canada. Investing in skills and innovation is key to inclusive economic growth

Ottawa, September 5, 2018 – With federal budget consultations underway, Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan) has issued six recommendations aimed at supporting inclusive economic growth and competitiveness by investing in skills and innovation. This is critical to help Canadians prepare for the future of work and to stay competitive in a rapidly changing labour market. New digital skills internships connect talent and employers

Ottawa, August 3, 2018 – Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan) will help Canadian youth acquire the skills and experience they need to succeed in the digital economy thanks to the brand new Digital Tech Internship program. This new two-year initiative, offered in partnership with the Government of Canada, will allow 440 underemployed recent graduates to connect with local employers and gain hands-on work experience. New internship opportunities for Canadian students will lead to skills development, jobs

April 29, 2018, Victoria, British Columbia When Canada’s college and polytechnic students have the opportunity to learn in a hands-on work environment, they build the real-world skills and connections they need for the good middle-class jobs of today and tomorrow. Today, during her address at Colleges and Institutes Canada’s annual conference in Victoria, British Columbia, Kate Young, Parliamentary Secretary for Science, announced a new pilot program that will allow colleges and polytechnics to work with businesses and not-for-profit organizations to send students into the workforce.
