Awards of Excellence Selection Process
Step 1: Nomination guidelines are posted to the CICan website by Friday, September 13, 2019. An electronic announcement is sent out to member institutions via CICan contact lists.
Step 2: Requests for applications to sit on a Selection Committee* are sent out by Friday, September 13, 2019. Applications are received by Monday, October 7, 2019.
Step 3: The members are selected based on regional and constituent representation by Friday, October 18, 2019.
Step 4: The deadline for institutions to submit their nomination electronically to CICan is 23:59 Monday, November 18, 2019.
Step 5: Nomination packages are sent electronically to each member of the eight Selection Committees no later than Friday, November 29, 2019.
Step 6: Nominations are reviewed and evaluated by individual members of each Selection Committee by Monday, January 13, 2020.
Step 7: Individual results are compiled by CICan and sent to each Selection Committee by Monday, January 20, 2020.
Step 8: A conference call with each Selection Committee to confirm the recipients will take place the week of January 27 or the week of February 3, 2020, as a backup.
Step 9: CICan emails the President of the winning and the non-winning institutions by the end of February 2020.
Step 10: Award recipients are honoured at the Awards Luncheon, during the CICan 2020 Conference and recognized on CICan’s website.
Step 11: After the Conference, a plaque or crystal is sent to the college or institute president’ office, for the college or institute to display.
