2024 Student Art Contest

Calling all artists! Our Student Art Contest is back.

There are so many talented artists at colleges and institutes across the country. Showcase your talent in our Student Art Contest!

The winners of the contest have their artwork on display at our national headquarters in Ottawa where it can be viewed by visiting college and institute leaders, government representatives, and industry partners.

The Theme: Unbounded Creativity

Inspired by the famous words of Edgar Degas, who said, ‘Art is not what you see, but what you make others see,’ this year’s iconic national student art contest challenges participants’ creativity by removing any thematic constraints; the only limit is your imagination.

What’s your medium? Submit in one of five categories!

Photography

Painting

Drawing

Textile, mixed media, sculpture or printmaking

Digital illustration or animation

How it works?

When submissions close, CICan’s Art Committee selects three finalists in each category. Then our staff will vote on a winner! The winners in each category will receive a cash prize of $500, courtesy of TD Insurance and have their artwork displayed at our national headquarters in Ottawa.

Note regarding the use of Generative AI

Submissions must be original work owned by the artist. Artwork created using Artificial Intelligence (AI) will not be accepted.
