New MOU encourages collaboration between China and Canada in education

CICan welcomes the signature of a new Memorandum of Understanding between the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development of Canada and the Ministry of Education of China concerning Education Cooperation. The agreement was signed last week in Ottawa by Prime minister Justin Trudeau and Li Keqiang, Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China.

CICan has long been involved in advocating for this MOU. It will make it easier for Canadian institutions to work with China on bilateral education cooperation initiatives, some of which will build on the international leadership training CICan has provided through the Vocational Education Leadership Training (VELT) program and on the PATHPRO institutional partnerships program.

For more information, see the joint statement issued by the governments of China and Canada.
