Denise Amyot accepts second mandate at the head of CICan

Ottawa, June 27, 2018 – Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan) is very pleased to announce that current President and CEO Denise Amyot has accepted a second five-year mandate at the head of the national association. Ms. Amyot’s contract was renewed by CICan’s Board of Directors and announced to the membership at CICan’s Annual General Meeting on June 19th.

“Denise Amyot is a tireless champion of colleges and institutes and the pivotal role they play in preparing Canadians with skills for the future. She is ideally suited to advocate for members during the next five years”, said Liane Roy, President and CEO of Collège communautaire du Nouveau-Brunswick, and outgoing Chair of CICan’s Board of Directors. “The renewed responsibilities accorded to Ms. Amyot are a sign of CICan’s strong representation of members under her leadership as well as an expression of the Board’s appreciation for her dedicated service as CEO over the past five years.”

Among her tasks, Denise Amyot will oversee the implementation of a new strategic plan that will lead the association into 2024.

“I am extremely honoured to be given the privilege to continue representing Canada’s colleges and institutes”, said Denise Amyot.  “I look forward to leading our fantastic team over the next five years, particularly as we develop our next strategic plan for 2019-2024. Colleges and institutes are on the forefront of preparing Canada’s workforce which makes this an exciting and promising time for them. Though there is much work to do, I believe the best is yet to come for our members. ”
