Request for Grant Concept Notes to Support Kenyan TVET Institutions: SITVES

Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan), in partnership with Linking Industry with Academia (LIWA) and the Rift Valley Technical Training Institute (RVTTI) through the Supporting Innovation in the Technical and Vocational Education Sector: Towards Productivity and Competitiveness (SITVES) project, invites calls for grant concept notes for the following initiatives in Kenya:

Pillar I: Innovation and Applied Research Hubs: Funding to support the establishment and implementation of innovation and applied research hubs at TVET institutions to foster linkages with industry, aligned with sectors in Kenya’s Big Four agenda.

Pillar II: Gender Equality in TVET: Funding to support research that examines gender equality considerations and gaps in TVET and proposes policy and practical applications to address the finding of the research.

Pillar III: Action Research: Funding to support action research in TVET that is problem-based and linked to local community development with a specific focus on how to measure productivity, innovation and efficiency through systemic research.

A total of up to four (4) winners will be awarded under Pillar 1 and up to three (3) winners each will be awarded under Pillar 2 and Pillar 3. Interested applicants can only apply for one grant across the three pillars.

The deadline for submission of the grant concept is October 15, 2019.
