Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan) is seeking services to help us embark on a comprehensive assessment and visioning of our equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) policies and procedures. The scope of this project will be to assist CICan to learn, grow and develop practices, policies and governance structures in line with EDI and apply them to CICan’s strategic priorities which are to advocate, build capacity and drive knowledge.
Our goal in engaging an EDI consultant (or consultants) is to support CICan in ensuring that EDI is integrated across the organization within our policies, procedures, practices, culture and norms. Broadly speaking, we are looking to:
- Review existing policies and procedures and advise on missing policies within the Canadian legal context.
- Provide tools and/or recommendations to build cohesive relationships and trust between all CICan employees at all levels including the board, and other internal groups such as consultants, stakeholders and partners;
- Develop and formalize policies and procedures and governance structures related to, but not limited to HR practices such as recruitment, hiring, retention, promotion, prevention of discrimination & harassment policy, etc. Equity, diversity & inclusion onboarding & training, procurement practices and supplier diversity.
- Foster a culture, practice and norms of equity to create a workforce and services representative of the community.
