As part of Canada’s new International Education Strategy, Colleges and Institutes Canada has been selected by the Government of Canada to design and administer a new outbound student mobility pilot program. This investment by the federal government will provide thousands of post-secondary students with the opportunity to study and work overseas, strengthening their global competency and enriching Canada’s economic prosperity.
Initially planned for April 2020, due to COVID-19, the full program launch has been postponed to the spring of 2021, or as soon as conditions permit. During this delayed period, Colleges and Institutes Canada has launched a call for proposals to member institutions for innovative outbound student mobility projects. This upfront investment will allow member institutions to test different tools, supports and services to build inclusive study/work abroad opportunities, adjust programming to a COVID-19 environment, and will serve as a stepping-stone for the full implementation of the program. Member institutions may submit applications as individual institutions or as a consortium of post-secondary institutions. Criteria for funding is detailed in the application guidelines.
Questions related to the application guidelines and/or Call for Proposal should be directed to firstname.lastname@example.org. Colleges and Institutes Canada will respond to all inquiries on a weekly basis through a Frequently Asked Questions document – updated every Wednesday until October 28, 2020.
Proposals must be submitted via our online portal by 8pm (EDT) on Friday, October 30, 2020.
Please note that we will continue to accept applications until Friday, November 6, 2020, at 8:00 p.m. EST. However, applications submitted on or before October 30, 2020, at 8p.m. EDT will be reviewed for funding as a matter of priority according to the selection process and criteria outlined in sections 4.2 and 4.3 of the programme guidelines. Applications submitted after October 30 will then be reviewed, starting on November 9, 2020, and funding will be subject to availability.
