Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan), together with its team of member institutions (Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology; Fisheries and Marine Institute of Memorial University; Institut de Technologie Agroalimentaire de St-Hyacinthe; and Malaspina University College) worked with the Vietnam’s Ministry of Education to establish a self-sustaining Tra Vinh Community College (TVCC) in Vietnam. TVCC was built on the Canadian model of community college which is characterized by a demand-driven curriculum development process to ensure relevance, accessibility, and responsiveness. CICan also assisted TVCC to become a strategic institution serving the Province of Tra Vinh and the Mekong Region by creating effective intitutional mechanisms.
