Sustaining Career Oriented Programs and Education (SCOPE)

South Africa | Africa

Project Description

Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan) assisted the Program for Technological Careers (PROTEC) by building its capacity at both personnel and institutional level to increase youth and adult participation in technology-oriented programs. CICan provided new and existing staff in PROTEC’s 26 branches across South Africa with training. A Schools Liaison and Partnership Training Program was also established within PROTEC, with assistance from CICan, in order to enhance their current programs and to serve community schools, teachers, parents and the industry. Finally, CICan supported PROTEC to intensify integration of gender equality into programs to increase the participation of women, as well as disadvantaged youth.
