Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan) worked with the Ministry of Education in Pakistan to improve the relevance and quality of technical education in the country. CICan provided technical assistance or training in the following areas: (i) industry-institute linkages; (ii) food technology; (iii) cost-recovery and financing; (iv) automation and control; (v) computer information technology; (vi) environmental technology; (vii) policy analysis and strategy development; (viii) mining technology, (ix) electronic publishing, (x) entrepreneurship and micro-enterprise development; (xi) occupational health and safety; and (xii) curriculum development. CICan was responsible for coordinating various components of the project across four provinces and Islamabad.
