Certes, nous avons besoin de professionnels de m\u00e9tiers et de la sant\u00e9 qualifi\u00e9s. Par contre, les professionnels de l\u2019\u00e9ducation pr\u00e9scolaire, de la conception de logiciels et de l\u2019entrepreneuriat sont tout aussi indispensables \u00e0 la croissance de notre \u00e9conomie en \u00e9volution. La mondialisation complique consid\u00e9rablement notre profil national de comp\u00e9tences et, plus que jamais, les employeurs canadiens ont besoin de candidats et candidates dot\u00e9s d\u2019une combinaison optimale de comp\u00e9tences professionnelles et mondiales. <\/p>\n<p>Les coll\u00e8ges et instituts ont toujours ax\u00e9 l\u2019enseignement sur des comp\u00e9tences recherch\u00e9es par le march\u00e9 du travail. Ils offrent d\u2019ailleurs plus de 10\u202f000\u202fprogrammes con\u00e7us avec les secteurs pour veiller \u00e0 ce que les objectifs d\u2019apprentissages correspondent aux attentes des employeurs.  <\/p>\n<p>Les exp\u00e9riences d\u2019\u00e9tudes et de travail \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tranger compl\u00e8tent cette \u00e9quation. Les \u00ab\u202fcomp\u00e9tences mondiales\u202f\u00bb sont les comp\u00e9tences communes \u00e0 tous les professionnels, telles que la communication, la collaboration et la capacit\u00e9 d\u2019adaptation. Les exp\u00e9riences \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tranger permettent aux \u00e9tudiants et \u00e9tudiantes d\u2019acqu\u00e9rir ces comp\u00e9tences avant d\u2019int\u00e9grer le march\u00e9 du travail. Cependant, les statistiques montrent que les Canadiens et Canadiennes sont moins susceptibles que leurs homologues du G7 \u00e0 vivre de telles exp\u00e9riences. Dans un contexte mondial, c\u2019est un d\u00e9savantage. Heureusement, les programmes comme\u202fExp\u00e9rience comp\u00e9tences mondiales (ECM) peuvent combler cet \u00e9cart. <\/p>\n<p>Financ\u00e9 par Emploi et D\u00e9veloppement social Canada et g\u00e9r\u00e9 conjointement par Coll\u00e8ges et instituts Canada et Universit\u00e9s Canada, ECM facilite l\u2019acc\u00e8s aux exp\u00e9riences d\u2019apprentissage \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tranger pour les Canadiens et Canadiennes aux \u00e9tudes postsecondaires. Dans le cadre du programme, les \u00e9tablissements organisent et concr\u00e9tisent des exp\u00e9riences d\u2019\u00e9tudes et de travail \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tranger qui favorise l\u2019acquisition des comp\u00e9tences mondiales recherch\u00e9es par les employeurs et n\u00e9cessaires \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9conomie canadienne. <\/p>\n<p>Par exemple, le programme de soutien \u00e0 la mobilit\u00e9 internationale des entrepreneurs autochtones I\u2019M SIENT (International Mobility Supporting Indigenous Entrepreneurs) du Sault College en Ontario est une initiative financ\u00e9e par ECM qui permet aux \u00e9tudiants et \u00e9tudiantes autochtones de perfectionner leurs comp\u00e9tences techniques et analytiques et d\u2019appliquer leurs connaissances avec des pairs et des entrepreneurs autochtones du Yucatan, au Mexique. Le potentiel de comp\u00e9tences de cette initiative est incalculable, d\u2019autant plus qu\u2019elle cible des groupes g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement sous-repr\u00e9sent\u00e9s dans la main-d\u2019\u0153uvre canadienne et les \u00e9tudes postsecondaires.   <\/p>\n<p>ECM mise sur les forces d\u2019un r\u00e9seau de plus de 250\u202f\u00e9tablissements postsecondaires pour favoriser l\u2019int\u00e9gration d\u2019environ 11\u202f000\u202f\u00e9tudiantes et \u00e9tudiants canadiens sur quatre ans (particuli\u00e8rement ceux et celles qui ont traditionnellement un acc\u00e8s limit\u00e9 \u00e0 ces exp\u00e9riences) \u00e0 une population active concurrentielle. <\/p>\n<p>\u00c0 ce jour, plus de 5000\u202f\u00e9tudiants et \u00e9tudiantes, dont 75\u202f% s\u2019identifient comme membres d\u2019un groupe traditionnellement sous-repr\u00e9sent\u00e9, ont particip\u00e9 \u00e0 une exp\u00e9rience d\u2019\u00e9tude ou de travail financ\u00e9e par ECM dans une centaine de\u202fpays. Parmi eux, 64\u202f% sont \u00e0 faible revenu, 18\u202f%, en situation de handicap et 13\u202f%, autochtones.  <\/p>\n<p>Le postsecondaire a toujours \u00e9t\u00e9 la cl\u00e9 pour relever les d\u00e9fis du march\u00e9 du travail. En effet, l\u2019\u00e9volution du monde de l\u2019emploi doit absolument se refl\u00e9ter dans l\u2019\u00e9ducation, et les exp\u00e9riences d\u2019apprentissage hors de la salle de classe et du pays sont plus pertinentes que jamais.  <\/p>\n<p>Les exp\u00e9riences d\u2019\u00e9tudes et de travail \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tranger, telles que celles financ\u00e9es par ECM, exposent les \u00e9tudiants et \u00e9tudiantes \u00e0 de nouveaux environnements, d\u00e9fis et mentalit\u00e9s qui leur permettent d\u2019acqu\u00e9rir des comp\u00e9tences, de la confiance et une appr\u00e9ciation pour la diversit\u00e9. Elles constituent de plus un \u00e9l\u00e9ment cl\u00e9 de la Strat\u00e9gie en mati\u00e8re d\u2019\u00e9ducation internationale du gouvernent du Canada.  <\/p>\n<p>Les participants et participantes d\u2019ECM ont identifi\u00e9 l\u2019adaptabilit\u00e9, la collaboration, le r\u00e9seautage, la r\u00e9solution de probl\u00e8me, les comp\u00e9tences linguistiques et la communication parmi les principales comp\u00e9tences acquises lors des exp\u00e9riences financ\u00e9es par le programme. D\u2019ailleurs, chacune de ces comp\u00e9tences concorde avec l\u2019initiative Comp\u00e9tences pour r\u00e9ussir du gouvernement du Canada, qui liste neuf comp\u00e9tences n\u00e9cessaires pour participer et s\u2019\u00e9panouir aux \u00e9tudes, au travail et dans la vie.  <\/p>\n<p>Le Canada a besoin d\u2019un flux permanent de talents comp\u00e9titifs \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle mondiale. Le financement permanent de programmes comme ECM profite donc aux \u00e9tudiants, aux \u00e9tudiantes et aux employeurs tout en aidant les \u00e9tablissements d\u2019enseignement \u00e0 offrir encore plus d\u2019exp\u00e9riences d\u2019\u00e9tudes et de travail \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tranger s\u00e9curitaires, enrichissantes et accessibles. <\/p>\n<p>Avec un financement garantissant sa p\u00e9rennit\u00e9 et sa croissance, ECM pourra cumuler les succ\u00e8s, former davantage de professionnels \u00e0 la r\u00e9ussite et approfondir les liens interpersonnels \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle mondiale. Les Canadiens et Canadiennes qui vivent des exp\u00e9riences \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tranger rapportent de nouvelles comp\u00e9tences chez nous.
