Please join us to learn more about CICan’s new community of practice (network) and national advisory committee for college and institute Information Technology (IT) professionals. We especially invite Heads of IT departments and Information Security Officers (CISOs etc.) to participate. The workshop will feature a presentation from the Canadian Centre for Cyber Security (CCCS / Cyber Centre) geared towards cybersecurity tools available for CICan members.
The CCCS operates as part of the Communications Security Establishment (CSE). It is Canada’s national authority on cyber security and it leads the government’s response to cyber security events. As Canada’s national computer security incident response team, the Cyber Centre works in close collaboration with government departments, critical infrastructure, Canadian businesses and international partners to prepare for, respond to, mitigate, and recover from cyber events.
Lindsay Macdonald and Marie Bélanger from the Partnerships Team focus on working with Academic entities across the country to provide continuous cyber security advice, guidance and services to improve cyber resilience. They will be presenting an overview of the cyber centre and some of the services that are offered to you. They are happy to remind you that all CCCS services and products are non-bias as a Federal organization and completely free of charge.
This virtual workshop will take place on February 8, 2021 from 12:00-1:00pm EST
