Join us to learn more about becoming a delivery partner for the new Supportive Care Assistant Program! The fully subsidized training program, funded by Employment and Social Development Canada, was created to address the acute labour shortages in the long-term and home care sector.
Developed in collaboration with colleges and institutes from across the country, the program prepares new workers for careers in the sector and will provide much needed support to long-term and home care staff.
Participants will complete six-weeks of online training and a four-month paid work placement. Graduates will then be offered a pathway to become fully credentialed personal care providers (also called personal support workers, health care aides and other titles) through further studies.
CICan is currently recruiting its member colleges and institutes to join this national initiative. Colleges and institutes who offer the program will receive a tuition subsidy. Employer partners will receive a wage subsidy of $5,000 per participant.
