GHG Inventorying and reducing your waste is a big job, and there are even more rewarding methods to reduce your GHGs and sequester carbon – through planting trees! Join us as we investigate how reforesting your campuses, converting your lawns to xeroscaped and canopied areas, and rehabilitating other converted or degraded natural areas is about more than just beautifying your campus. Planting trees around buildings and grounds can reduce energy required for cooling as trees abate the heat island effect and can provide direct cooling to buildings through shade. This workshop will provide insight into how to better incorporate trees and plantings in GHG inventorying and Climate Action Plans. Our panel discussion will also provide insight into consulting with Knowledge Keepers and the benefits of naturalizing our campuses.
This is the final Workshop in our GHG Inventorying Series. We will take a break for summer and return with our next series – the Green Reporting Series in Fall 2022.
