This Climate Changemakers Youth Leadership Training will provide engaged young leaders with the skills, attitudes, knowledge, and experience needed to increase their capacity to influence positive change in their communities and unpack and promote a carbon neutral “one planet” lifestyle.
The training will provide:
- The most current climate science knowledge base, drawn from the World Environmental Situation Room (UNEP) and analytical tools such as the City Prosperity Index (UN-Habitat) and the Sustainable Lifestyle Protocols developed by the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT).
- Leadership training including how to organize and coordinate climate impactful projects in their communities and align with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
- Government relations and advocacy training at the federal level, to provide young leaders with the confidence and know how to advocate for their climate solutions professionally
These skills empower the youth to become “Climate Changemaker Emissaries”.
