Following consultations with provinces and territories as well as national associations, Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada has announced that flexibilities to allow international students to study online from overseas and qualify for the Post-Graduate Work Permit have been extended. The extension and modification of these measures reflects IRCC’s commitment to quickly work through a large inventory of study permits and ongoing challenges related to international travel. Recognizing a strong desire for students to be back on campus and in Canada, working with IRCC to find solutions to current operational challenges around study permit processing remains a top priority for Colleges and Institutes Canada.
