An opportunity to serve on the Board of Colleges and Institutes Canada

As part of the annual renewal of the Board of Directors, the Governance Committee of Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan) is recruiting for At Large Directors. The positions are for a 3-year renewable term, effective June 29, 2020.

The following skills and experience have been identified as priorities for recruitment:

  • Knowledge mobilization and research
  • Business Acumen
  • Diversity – gender, language, visible minority
  • Representation – from a large college

About the Board

As of May 26th, 2020, CICan’s by-laws have been amended to reflect a new board composition. The board is composed of 6 internal directors representing colleges, cegeps, and institutes from 6 regions of Canada, chosen by members, and 8 to 10 at large directors, chosen by the board, representing from 2 to 6 heads of member institutions, and from 2 to 6 individuals, representing diverse sectors and industries, with key skills and competencies identified by CICan’s Skills Matrix. For a list of current directors, please visit the CICan website. The board meets in person twice a year, in November and March, and by teleconference in May, with the AGM held in June.
