April 2014 ACCC National Skills Summit Report (October 20-21, 2013, Ottawa, Ontario) The summary of the presentations and rich dialogue from ACCC's National Skills Summit held last fall in Ottawa is now available to download. The report includes an update on ACCC’s Action Plan. Of particular note is the Industry-College Coalition which has grown to 32 members. Federal investments are making a difference by building college and institute applied research capacity to respond to the needs of SMEs and community partners. The impact for the Canadian economy is significant given that 98 percent of Canadian companies are small with less than 100 employees, and half of employed people work in these small firms.
